Funding Sources
The Autism Waiver Program
The Autism Waiver program is designed to provide community-based, long-term, person-centered therapeutic services and support to eligible children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to enable home and community living as an alternative to institutional care. The waitlist for Autism Waiver services is very lengthy; families often wait 5 to 10 years to get off the waitlist.
As soon as your child receives an ASD diagnosis, call the Autism Waiver Registry at 866-417-3480 to place your child’s name on the waitlist. More information is available from the Maryland Department of Special Education (MSDE).Low-Intensity Support Sevices (LISS)
Low-Intensity Support Services (LISS) are non-residential supports provided to eligible individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. LISS provides up to $2,000 in funding for “community supports” that will improve the quality of life for the disabled individual or their family, as well as increase the individual’s independence and ability to participate in their community. Martinez Advocacy accepts LISS funding as payment for services.
